Source: Newspaper Article - 1958
On Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 5PM, neighbors visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lacy Peters of Ellisville to wish them much happiness upon the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. Their only child, Mrs. Charles Seymour of Falls Church, and a niece Mrs. Lloyd Bell of Takoma Park, Md., came in to add to the couple's surprise and pleasure. Mrs. Seymour served as hostess, cutting the beautiful wedding cake and serving punch and mints. Mr. and Mrs. Peters, formerly resided in Giles Co. and came to Ellisville twenty-four years ago, purchasing the Gillespie farm. They were delighted by the visits, flowers, cards, and gifts of their family and friends upon this occasion. Rev. Sam Stone, pastor of Gold Mine Baptist Church where Mr. and Mrs. Peters are members, had devotions at the conclusion of the visiting period.

Note: Pearl V. Peters added this handwritten message:
"It was a surprise to us. 303 were present."
