She was the daughter of Morrison Jack and Roxanna Selden Jack Frazer. After the death of Morrison Jack, Roxanna Selden Jack married William Clark Frazer, who died in 1838. On December 12, 1835 as Margaretta P. Jack, she married Abner Riviere Hetzel in Connecticut.

Died at the Age of Eighty-Five
Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Margaret Hetzel were held this morning at the family residence, 617 19th Street Northwest. She was eighty-five years old and was the widow of Captain A.R. Hetzel, United States Army.
Mrs. Hetzel was one of the organizers of the Daughter of the American Revolution and at the time of her death was the first honorary President. She was the prime mover in the project of erecting a monument to the mother of Washington.

Margaret Phebe, born October 25, 1815, at St. Vincents, West Indies. She married November 18, 1835, at Rochester, Captain Abner Reviere Hetzel, of the United States Army, son of John Hetzel and Mary Poole of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was an assistant quartermaster and died July 20, 1846 [should be 1847], at Louisville, Kentucky, on his return from Mexico. They had four children: Samuel Selden, born January 1, 1837, undergraduate at West Point Military Academy in 1857 and major of volunteers in 1862; Mary, born September 25, 1829, died September 3, 1840; Susan, born April 5, 1841 and Margaret born January 11, 1843.
