Miss Eliza Wilkes Dead
Daughter of Rear Admiral Succumbs to Heart Failure at Winchester
Miss Eliza Wilkes, daughter of the late Rear Admiral Wilkes, died at her summer home in Winchester, Virginia yesterday after a brief illness. Miss Wilkes had been suffering with heart trouble for the last two years and this was the immediate cause of her death. With her sister, Miss Jane Wilkes, Miss Eliza left Washington June 10 for the South to spend the summer. In former years the sisters occupied their summer home in North Carolina during the hot weather. Miss Eliza Wilkes' condition was such this year that is was impossible for her to make the Carolina trip.

She was 70 years old and is survived by a brother, Edward Wilkes of Salt Lake City and a sister, Miss Jane Wilkes. Another brother, John Wilkes, a wealthy mine operator of Charlotte, North Carolina died in that city recently. The body will be brought to Washington tomorrow and the funeral will be held Tuesday from St. John's Episcopal Church, Sixteenth and H Streets Northwest of which Miss Wilkes was a member. It is thought the interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no services at the family residence, 814 Connecticut Avenue.
