Ada Mae Sims, 77, of Nederland, Texas, died Saturday, August 28, 1999 at Holiday Pines Nursing Home in Woodville.

Funeral Services were Monday, August 30, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Woodville, Texas. Deason paul Rahal officiated at the services.

Serving as pallbearers were Derek Freeman, Christ Dugan, Curtus Casey, Jay Casey, Melvin Sims, and Billy Sims.

Visitation was held on Sunday, August 29, 1999 from 6 - 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sims was born February 1, 1922 in Port Neches, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Nederland and had lived in Woodville for the last five months. She was a member of the Lady in The Pines Catholic and a member of the hospital auxiliary for Med-Jefferson County Hospitals.

She is survived by her husband, Alvia Sims of Nederland; son, Al Sims of Woodville; daughters, Beverly Casey of Port Neches and Mary Williams of Woodville; brothers Arnold Jones of North Zulch and Darrell Jones of Port Neches; sisters, Ethel Kitchen of Port Neches, Ruby Choate, and Edyth Williford of Nederland; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
