Mrs. Quilla (Helon) Smith, 57, of 3702 Liberty Drive, died at 6:20 AM Thursday in a local hospital. She was born in Victoria and had been a resident of Corpus Christi since 1936. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Sue Williams, Corpus Christi; one son, Douglas D. (Bubba) Smith, Grand Prairie; two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Hoffman, Victoria, and Mrs. Hazel Eckhardt, Karnes City; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel, with Rev. Fred Wilson of San Angelo officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert L. Cooper, Ronnie E. Ganer, Bill Hartofilax, Jess Jackson, and Fred Burke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Fund. Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel.
