She was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Baker, Mont., the daughter of Roscoe and Fannie Bush Zink. She lived at Willard, Mont., until the family moved to Spearfish, S.D., where she attended grade school. She graduated from high school in Rapid City, S.D.. On May 25, 1938, she married Lloyd E. Wead in Rapid City, South Dakota. Following their marriage they went into the ministry field in South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Indiana and Florida until semi-retiring and returning to Rapid City.
Mildred's desire was to be near her family in her later years. She was a devoted mother to her children, they were her life. She enjoyed play the piano.
Survivors include her husband Rev. Lloyd Wead of Rapid City, S. Dak.; three sons Joe Wead of Tampa, Fla., Rev. Ray Wead of Ogden, Utah, and Rev. Richard Wead of Hampton, Virginia; two daughters Joanne Harris of Terry, Mont., and Joyce Wilson of Cody, Wyo.; two sisters Bea Nelson and Hazel Miser both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and 19 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Rapid City, South Dakota, with Rev. Karl Strader and Rev. Michael Zarle officiating. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery in Rapid City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Terry is in charge of the arrangements.
