Mr. Harris was born in Chariton, Iowa on March 23, 1935, to John Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Frantz) Harris.
He served in the U.S. Army, in a tank division, from 1954 to 1962. He continued to serve in the National Guard in Flagstaff as a military police officer.
Before retirement, Mr. Harris worked as an electrician for FUSD for 20 years.
Mr Harris is survived by his wife, Michelle Harris; daughter, Amanda Harris, of Flagstaff; sons, Mike (Barbara) Harris, of Flagstaff and Sean (Connie) Harris, of Wyoming; brother, Charles Shearon, of Bakersfield, California; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Citizens Cemetery Veterans Section, 1300 S. San Francisco St. An open house with memorial will be scheduled in August.
