Frank Rocco Zappia, 37, of Pulaski RD 1 died at Jameson Memorial Hospital at 12:10 a.m. today following a lingering illness. He was born in Pulaski April 19, 1934 to Joseph and Mary Chirico Zappia. He was employed at the Borden Dairy Co. in Youngstown. He was a member of the New Castle Baptist Temple, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Teamsters Local 377. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Higgle Zappia, whom he married May 23, 1959; a son, Stephen F. at home; a daughter, Melda Marie at home; his mother of Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Phillian and Mrs. Alfred (Virginia) Serafino of Pulaski and Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Perline of Campbell, Ohio; and a brother Joseph of Pulaski. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Edward A. DeCarbo and Son Funeral Home, Mill and Lutton streets with the Rev. Edwin Carter and the Rev. F. Dickson Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
