Kokomo Daily Tribune - Friday, February 24, 1911:

A. B. Troyer, formerly a resident of Howard County and widely known here, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claude Kiser, one and one-half miles north of Peru at an early hour Thursday morning. The funeral is to be held in Kokomo at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from Grace Methodist Church. The minister of the First M.E. Church of Peru and the Rev. J. C. White of Grace Church will officiate. The body will arrive on the Lake Erie train at 8 o'clock and will be immediately taken to the church. The casket will be kept open until the hour of the funeral.

Mr. Troyer was born in Ohio but lived for many years in Howard County. He was a man of the highest character, genial, kindly, and honorable, a man of foursquare honesty and lofty purpose, and one whom the people of this community will long remember. He left here about fourteen years ago to live with his daughter, Ida (Mrs. Claude Kiser) in Miami County where he died.

The surviving relatives are Jacob E. Troyer of Indianapolis; Mrs. Lewis Grau of Howard County; Mrs. William Spraker and Mrs. J. O. Thomas of Kokomo; Miss Kate Troyer of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Claude Kiser of Peru; and the Rev. E. R. Troyer of Huntingburg, Indiana; the Rev. A. J. Troyer of this city; Jacob Shrock of this County; and Joseph of Gas City.
