OBIT: Wolford Lewis "Wood" Beams, son of the late James Beams and Tilda Mae Wright Beams was born Dec 6,1882 in Green Co and departed this life at 4:30pm Sat. Aug 5,1972 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was 89 yrs of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Hattie McCubbins who preceded him in death on July 30,1930. To this union were born 3 daughters. Surviving are Mrs Opha Jewell, Summersville, Mrs Edith Price, Greensburg. Mrs Grace Bloyd preceded him in death Nov 8, 1929. He united in marriage to Florence McCubbin March 20, 1932 who preceded him in death Feb 19, 1959. To this union were born 2 sons and 2 daughters: Winford Lewis Beams, Garnett Beams and Mrs Mary Lois Wright, all of Greensburg and Mrs Clarala Arnett, Campbellsville. Mr Beams is survived by one brother: Emmett Beams, Salem IN; 1 half brother: Victor Beams, Hudgins; 3 half sisters: Mrs Mary Redman, Hodgenville; Mrs Eliza Pruitt, Hudgins, and Mrs Lura Marcum, Louisville; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Burial Aetna Grove Cemetery with Revs Thurman Eaton and Coy Kidd officiated. Pallbearers: Frank and John Albert Beams, Glenn and Finis Bale, Shelby Pruit and Arthur Chaudoin.
