Ruby Boatright, 90, of Decatur died 3:35 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 25, 1999) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials: American Diabetes Association or First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Mrs. Boatright was born in Creal Springs on July 13, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Martha Jones Mangum. She was retired from Warren & VanPraag Architects and was a member of First United Methodist Church and Decatur Club. She was a former PTA president at Riverside School and a volunteer for Decatur Memorial Hospital and Red Cross Bloodmobile. She married Walter C. Boatright on Jan. 20, 1934.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Barbara Bartison and husband Denny of Decatur; Janie Wise and husband Howard of Moweaqua; sister, Pauline Mann of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren, Dana Spies of Normal; Mark Paulson and Chad Wise, both of Chicago; Chris Wise of Moweaqua; great-grandchildren, Kate Spies and Hank Spies of Normal.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mom, you were a great inspiration to all of us and you will remain in our hearts forever.
