Iral Edward "Peanut" Loar, 69, of Martin, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday at Ozark Cemetery near Tupelo, Miss. with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Loar was born September 23, 1940 in Covington, son of the late Frank and Lora Johnson Loar. He was retired as a supervisor after 31 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City and after retirement he worked with Harper's Wrecker Service, Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Linda Morgan Loar of Martin; one son, Eddie Loar of Martin; four stepdaughters, Diane Bryant of Walker, La., Juanita Bates of Houma, La., Patricia Brown of Magnolia, Texas and Sharon Shelton of Pride, La.; and one grandchild, Brooklyn Loar. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Loar.
