Cora E Nelson Wilcox, daughter of William Asa and Emily Wilcox was born in Polk County, Mo. near Pleasant Hope, July 31, 1870, and passed away September 26, 1950, in Bolivar, Missouri.
She had lived several years in Springfield, Mo. but had made her home in Bolivar for two or more years before her death.
She was educated in the public schools of Bolivar and attended Southwest Baptist College.
In 1890 she was united in marriage to Granville Richard Wilkinson. To this union two sons were born, Paul Richard Wilkinson, Bolivar and Ralph Wilkinson of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs Fyrn Hughes of Springfield; and Elaine, who preceded her in death.
In 1914 she was married to Peter R. Nelson, who also preceded her in death. She was very active in social and civic affairs and was a member of the Grace Methodist Church of Springfield. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Rose Hatler of Neosho; Mrs Anna Burns of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Mrs Virginia Upton of Eldorado Springs; and one brother, Walter H. Wilcox of Springfield and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 28, at the Erwin-Blue Funeral Chapel with the Rev. E. C. Wadlow of the Bolivar Methodist Church of Bolivar officiating, Interment was in Greenwood cemetery.
