Hilda Elmiira Maki, 90, of Esko died Thursday, October 19, 2006 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born December 22, 1915 in Automba Township to Oscar and Ida (Hentunen) Ketola. Hilda married Edward Maki on March 14, 1945 and they made their home and raised their family in Esko. She was a member of Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; brothers, John, Walfred, Alfred, Albert, and Arthur Ketola; sisters, Hilma Holmi, Lydia Johnson, Selma Riihiluoma, and Amelia "Millie" Mackey.

She is survived by her children, Karen Stark of Grand Rapids, Irene (Dan) Hendrickson of Island Lake, Alice (Dan) Anderson of Cloquet, and Bill Maki of Esko; fourteen grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held on Monday, October 23, 2006 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Inurnment was in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Esko.
