Mrs. Argent was born December 12, 1921, at Edna, to Samuel George Argent and Martha Jayne (Kessler) Triebel. She attended school in Edna and graduated from Edna High School in 1939. She then attended Tulsa School of Business in Tulsa where she graduated in 1941.
She married Marion Rulin Argent at Dearing on April 1, 1944. They were later divorced.
Mrs. Argent worked for the U.S. War Department in Prince Rupert, Canada, and Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis. In 1952 she moved to Coffeyville and worked for the Parkersburg Rig & Reel, Page Milk Company, and the City of Coffeyville. She retired from work in the middle 1980s.
Mrs. Argent was a member of Todays Family Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Les Be Nabors, all of Coffeyville.
Survivors include one son, Jim of Coffeyville; one daughter, Charlotte Barnett of Pittsburg; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday.
The family would welcome memorials to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Fund.
