A native of Humble, Jessalyn was a longtime resident of this area. She graduated from Chenier Business College and was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Society. Mrs. Barks was instrumental in organizing the volunteer fire department's women's auxiliary, worked at Finger Furniture Company and retired from Malone and Hyde Food Dist.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Littleton Barks, Sr. and sons Joseph Littleton Barks, Jr. and William Aubrey (Bill) Barks.
Survivors include her daughter Nicki Lynne Barks; sister Helen Malone; brothers W. C. (Bill) Butchee and Ray D. Inman; grandchildren Amanda Jacks, Brandy Southerland and husband Marcus, Randi Barks, Summer Funchess, Skye Haines and Joshua Reeter and great grandchildren Joseph Jacks, Alex Wagner, Rebekka Quast, Chloe Quast, Asher Quast and Jahn Southerland.
Funeral services will be at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.
