Mrs. Boles was born in Stokes County on June 26, 1918, to the late Edgar Ernest and Esther Beasley Smith.
After graduating from Woman's College, now University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Mrs. Boles taught school at Pinnacle, Nancy Reynolds, Francisco and Meadows elementary schools for a total of 39 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Tommy Lambert of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Susan Boles of Westfield and a sister, Olivia Morrow Shaw of Pinnacle.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Collins; and a brother, Ernest Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, with burial in the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
