Comer Wade Davis, 77, of Phenix City died Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2009 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Mar. 6, 2009 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Cummings officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St. Phenix City.

Mr. Davis was born Nov. 16, 1931 in Eufaula, Ala., son of the late Maggie Pearl Helms Davis and James Walter Davis. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired after 30 years from Uniroyal as a production supervisor then went to work for the Russell County School District as a bus driver retiring after 14 years. He was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Christine H. Davis of Phenix City; son, Phillip Wade Davis and wife Vicki of Atlanta, Ga.; adoptive daughter, Brenda Lewis and husband Joey of Phenix City; sisters, Juanita Elizabeth Ross of Wetumpka, Ala. and Annie Belle Threatt and husband JW of Baker Hill, Ala.; granddaughter, Kim Gibbs; great granddaughter, Skyler Gibbs and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Columbus Hospice for all of the special care given to their loved one. The family will accept flowers but those so desiring may make contribution to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909.
