SASKATCHEWAN HERALD, SATURDAY, AUGUST 25, l928
Fred BALLENDINE, a resident of Battleford since l876, died very suddenly at the home of his son James BALLENDINE, yesterday. He had been employed by the Town for some days cutting weeds. Yesterday he worked up till noon and while eating his dinner he was taken with a bed spell of heart trouble, dying in a few minutes. The deceased, who at the time of his death was 69 years old, was an orphan boy adopted when quite young by the late Peter BALLENDINE. He is survived by his two sons, James and John, who both served overseas, his wife Sophia CARDINAL having died several years ago. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock.
