per family history my great grandfather was capable of adding numbers and retaining them with the correct total. One time he was put to the task to prove his claim that he could add up all the box cars numbers on a moving train. How fast the train was moving is not known. There were many cars and when the total was given by someone who was keeping tack of the box car numbers was the same as the number Alfred T Belk had said after the last box car was out of sight.

Alfred T Belk was the US Postmaster of the Nineveh Post Office beginning 28 Jan 1889 until Nov 1889. On 24 May 1865 he became a charter member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge No. 317 and also a worshipful master Nineveh Lodge No. 317.

At one time his occupation was running a Saw Mill and sold Notions and Stationery. From 1903 to 1933 he was a carpenter and ran a Boarding House with the help of his wife, Amanda and daughters Opal and Ada. He was of the Protestant faith.
