He was taken to the hospital in the Schroeder ambulance from his home on Bear Creek at Wintersville. He was 66 years, four months, and one day of age.

Deceased was born at Independence, Grayson County, Virginia, October 14, 1875. He moved to the Willamette Valley in Oregon in 1883, and lived there for five years. From there, he came to Bear Creek and on July 4, 1897, was married to Maude Leneve, daughter of a pioneer family of Coos County.
