Mrs. Mary E. Moore, aged 81 years, four months and nine days, wife of James E. Moore, died about noon Sunday, April 28, 1940, at her home near Brock, Wayne Township, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Moore was born December 19, 1858, in Perry Township, a daughter of the late John and Clarinda Rose VanDruff. She spent all her life in the Brock Community where she was widely known and highly esteemed. She was a member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Church. Besides her husband she leaves the following sons and daughters: Mrs. William (Clara) Thralls, Fairmont, W. Va.; Mrs. Alonzo (Hettie) Kiger, Claysville; John W. Moore, Piedmont, O.; Austin Moore, Jewett, O.; Miss Eva Moore, Spraggs; Mrs. Jesse (Pearl) Fox, Waynesburg, R. D. 3; Miss Hazel Moore and Arvel Moore, Spraggs. Three children are deceased. She also leaves a brother, W. L. VanDruff, Spraggs, R. D. 1; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
