Manuel Thomas Stilwell Sr.of Vinton, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2002. Mr. Stilwell was well known as a passionate husban, father, grandfather and friend. Always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. He was a W.W. II veteran, Mr Stilwell served with the Army Air Force in the South Pacific during the final months of the war. Mr. Stilwell retired from C&P telephone company as an Engineer after 38 years of didicated service, which was then followed by 16 years of service with Atlantic And Pacific Telecom before retiring a second time. Mr. Stilwell was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy and Clarence Stilwell, and a sister Elizabeth Ussery.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years Martha Hodges Stilwell. Son and daughter-in-law, M.Thomas (Tommy) Stilwell Jr.of Atlanta. Daughters and son-in-law, Leslie and Rich White of Bent Mountain, Lisa and Brent Wilson of Roanoke,Grandchildren, Kayla Caldwell White, Bobby Wilson, Veronica Wilson and Bailey Stilwell.
