Thomas Watson "Tom" Defreese was born October 7, 1892 to Charles H. and Mary Rebecca "Polly" Palmer Defreese in Paulding County, Georgia. His mother died 16 days after he was born.

Tom was raised by his mother's parents, John W. and Mary E. Joiner Palmer. Tom was listed as the grandson in the Palmer household on the 1900 and 1910 census. By 1910, his sister Viola and brother James Garfield Defreese were also living with their grandparents.

His father continued living in Paulding County and married Ada Mary Williams; they had six children.

On July 23, 1911, Tom married Vinnie Bundrum, who was the daughter of William Jacob and Canzada Ann Sinyard Bundrum. They were married in Paulding County, and lived there until their deaths. They had five children: Willie Mae, Ozie, I.V., Floy T., and Luther Watson Defreese.

Tom was a farmer all his life. He died December 25, 1973, and his wife died exactly five years later on Christmas Day in 1978.

His wife and parents (Charles H. and Mary Rebecca Defreese)were buried in this cemetery.
