Mary A. "Mamie" Lauer, 98, Wautoma, died Monday morning (May 5, 1986) at Wautoma Care Center.
She was born July 12, 1888 at the Town of Oasis. She was the daughter of Peter and Lena (Fiederspiel) Meyer. She married Jasper Lauer February 12, 1907 at Plainfield. He died September 12, 1968. A lifelong area resident, she farmed with her husband in the town of Oasis for over 40 years. She had been a resident of Wautoma Care Center since 1979. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainfield and the parish's Ladies Society.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Eleanore) Wanechek, Cle Elum, Washington; one son, Bernard Lauer, Almond; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Falk, Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three sons, three brothers and one grandson.
Services will be held at 10:30am Friday at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma, and at 11:00am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainfield, the Rev. Linus Steckbauer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
