He was born in West Virginia, son of the late Everett W. Sr. and Mabelee (Stewart) Barker.
Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Tirabassi; a son, Paul of Cleveland, Ohio; three siblings: Mike, Edie and Kathy, all of Cleveland; his mother-in-law, Irma Tirabassi; his wife's siblings: Bernard, Donna James and Annette Westerberg and their spouses and children; and special friends, Bill and Amy Leary.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Searles.
Bob was employed by Integritas Inc., Altoona, as a system analyst. He was a U.S. Army veteran with 22 years of service, having served as helicopter safety NCO, first sergeant and Army recruiter in the Ebensburg area.
Bob was past governor and present prelate of LOOM Lodge 681, secretary of the Holy Name Bowling League, board member of Laurel Highlands Bowling and member of the Saturday "lunch club." He was a radio-controlled airplane enthusiast, an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and a National Hot Rod Association fan.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Entombment in Holy Name Mausoleum.
