Anne Whitehead, daughter of Sir Swinnerton Dyer and wife of the poet Paul Whitehead. It has not been possible to ascertain the date of birth, which is approximate. The lady has generally received a bad press, being described as 'homely' and it being imputed that she might be simple. People sympathised with Paul Whitehead for having to endure her, but he married her for her money and didn't Oscar Wilde say that the man who marries for money will earn it?
