She was born July 18, 1934, in Springfield, the daughter of John and Jean Olds Bender.
Preceding her in death was a grandson.
Mrs. Beal was employed by the state Department of Vital Records.
Surviving are her husband, William A.; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Jeannie) Frakes and Mrs. Jerry (Carol) Basso, both of Athens, and Mrs. Allan (Vickie) Freeland of German Valley; eight grandchildren; her parents, Loren and Jean Lewis of Athens; two sisters, Nancy Terrell and Judy Nance, both of Athens; a brother, Bill Johnson of Silvis; several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mott and Henning Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating.
Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Athens.
