The following information is from my mother Stella Fryman Ward Lilly's sister. Lilly died of Typhoid Fever. Lilly became sick all of a sudden and was dead within a few days. Joseph & Nancy Jenkins Fryman, her father & mother, could not stand for her to be buried away from Kentucky. They shipped her body, by train back to Kentucky.

Burial: Lilly's paternal uncle Omer Fryman had a 4 grave plot and she is buried next to her brother Stanley who died of pneumonia with bronchial infection at 2months. When Uncle Omer and Aunt Tilda Jenkins Fryman where buried, they are at the feet of the graves of Lilly and Stanley and are next to the road in the cemetery.

I remember my mom, Stella Fryman Ward, talking about her sister death, Lilly Ina Fryman and the circumstances around her death. Mom said that when it was discovered that Lilly had Typhoid fever she was quarantined in the home.

She remembered that grandpa would deliver, at least once a day food and set it by the entry way door of their home. Grandma would stay in the house and they talked through the door about how Lilly was doing and grandpa related how the other children were doing. After Grandpa left Grandma would then open the door to pick the food and take it inside after grandpa left the area. Aunt Lilly died on 19 Jul 1919 she was 15 years 6 months and 29 days.

Grandma Nancy Jenkins Fryman took care of Aunt Lilly and they stayed in the main house which was quarantined. To prevent the rest of the family from getting the disease they lived in one of the outside building. Mom and her brother Art were old enough to watch over the younger siblings and grandpa would continue to work.

Aunt Lilly Ina Fryman was buried next to her infant brother Stanley 1915-1916 at Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, Harrison, Kentucky. According to my mother grandma Fryman did not want her daughter buried so far from her kin. Thus Lilly's body was transported by train to Cynthiana.

Another memory of this time from my mother. She said that Art did all the cooking while Mom did the clean up. She said that she did not mind doing this because when Art was through cooking with each pan and or dish he washed them. Thus leaving the only the dishes used for that meal.
