"The remains of Calvin McClung arrived in this city from St. Louis, on Monday last, and were interred in Gray Cemetery. He died about three weeks ago. He was born in Knoxville on May 14, 1820 and was consequentially 37 years of age. He had been 12 years a resident of St Louis, and a successful merchant. He was esteemed by all who knew him, and in the language of the St. Louis Republican "has left behind him a record of a well spent life." We sympathize with his kindred, in their afflictions, but we are gratified to learn that the family will all return to Knoxville, and make their permanent home. Their social qualities and capital will be a valuable acquisition to the city.

We repeat what we have before said, that persons raised in this latitude to mature age, are not likely to mature age, are not likely to stand in many in the latitude of St. Louis, especially those who have lungs easily effected by cold and sudden changes of weather.
