DIES OF TUBERCULOSIS
Seth Beard is Survived by His Mother, a Sister and One Brother

The funeral of Seth Beard, who died at 8:50 Saturday night at a boarding house located near the Mignonette Mine, about five miles northwest of Carthage, was held this afternoon at the home of Fred Beard, corner of Central and Meridian Streets. Fred Beard is a brother of the dead man.
Rev. A. J. Wagner, former pastor of the local Congregational church, conducted the services. The pallbearers were W. V. Hatton, Will Perkins, Ben Head, W. P. Ennis, Doug Findlay and Earl Hurst. The burial was made in Park Cemetery.
Seth Beard was born in Iowa November 7, 1860, which would make him over 51 years old. When a boy of seven he was brought to this county by his parents and has been here ever since. His death was due to tuberculosis. His health had been poor for the past three years, but of late it was believed he was showing signs of improvement. Last Thursday he became overheated while picking blackberries and was taken ill and his condition grew worse very rapidly.
The survivors are the mother, Mrs. T. K. Beard, a sister, Mrs. B. B. Clark and Fred Beard, a brother, all of Carthage.
