Thomas O'Neal and his twin sister, Wilma Lucile Atteberry were born on Feb. 3, 1911 as the youngest two of 16 children, to Thomas Jefferson Atteberry and Melissa Eveline Johnston Atteberry. The twins were called "Sister" and "Buster" by all their sisters and brothers and even the neices and nephews years later. His name was changed several times, he was called Delmer when he was little (see the 1920 census) but in all other family records his name is spelled Thomas O'Niel (or O'Neal) Atteberry. He married Autra Roark on Sept. 8 1934 in Missouri. Thomas served in WWII and was injured while landing on the beach on D-Day. The family had five children.
