SUSIE CLARK DAVIS was born on June 16, 1877 in Butte City, Glenn, California. She was the 4th of eight children born to James Nelson Davis (1845-1918) and Elizabeth Almira Brittan (1853-1908).

Private funeral services for Susie D. Boynton, widow of San Francisco civic leader Albert E. Boynton, were held yesterday at Patterson and O’Connell Funeral Home, San Mateo, with inurnment of Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colusa.
Mrs. Boynton died Thursday, a native of Butte City, in Glenn county, she is survived by two daughters, Jeanette B. Humber of San Mateo and Elizabeth B. Holmes of Chevy Chase, Md.; a son Robert D. Boynton of San Francisco, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, who died in 1945 at the age of 70, was a pioneer in the give-and-take bargaining method of settling labor disputes and fathered much of California’s legislation to protect the rights of workers.
