Mrs. Beals, 89, died Thursday morning at the Maple Park Health Manor. She had retired three years ago after 50 years of service as a librarian at Westfield Public Library. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carter of Washington Township, she was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church. She was the wife of Blanchard Beals, who died in 1961.
The deceased was the sister of the late Dr. Larue Carter for whom the Larue Carter Hospital in Indianapolis was named.
