Rosamund was born the fifth of seven children, four of whom died in infancy. She grew up in Pasadena, California, where her folks ran a boarding house, and lived there through at least 1910.

On February 22, 1913, she married English-born Edward Hamshar, in Priest River, Idaho. They had two children, Edward Albert Hamshar (16 Dec 1913-30 Jul 1993) and Lois Louise Hamshar Harold (11 Jun 1915-22 June 2000). Both Edward and Louise spent most of their lives in the Priest River area, and died in the area.

Rosamund died in Newport, Washington, the town where her daughter Lois was living.
