Funeral of Distinguished Educator Will Take Place In Schoolcraft.

SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich., Sept. 16.— The death of Dr. Edward Miles Brown, son of the late Hon. E. Lakin Brown of Schoolcraft, occurred Monday night in Ann Arbor after an illness of several weeks. Dr. Brown was a man of remarkable mind and strength of character find was widely known in educational circles. For many years he held the chair of English at the University of Cincinnati, O., and conducted his classes from a wheel chair because of an infirmity. Last year he resigned and went to Ann Arbor to live, that he might have the advantages of the university library in his study. He wrote several text books. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the old home in Schoolcraft. Dr. Brown leaves a wife, a brother, Addison Brown, secretary of the Michigan agricultural college of Lansing, and a sister, Miss Ada Brown, of Schoolcraft.
