Notes from Marianna Hamilton: George and Alice (in 1960) reside at 5629 College Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana
George was head of the Commercial Dept. at Shortridge High School until his retirement from the teaching profession. During the war years he worked as an accountant for a small factory engaged in making war material. When the regular accountant returned at the end of the war, George was employed in the accounting department of the Haag Drug Co. He is still employed there at age 82.

Alice is loved by all who know her; for her gentleness and kindly manner. And George, too, for his quiet ways and strength of character. Together they cared for Alice's parents in their declining years along with raising their young family. Alice was prominent in the PTA, and both were very active church members.

The couple were members of the Central Ave. Methodist Episcopal Church until they withdrew their membership along with a large group from the church to organize a new Methodist church (St.Luke's) north of the city.

They have always been an inspiration to their children in the beautiful way in which they have lived their their lives together.
