Rev. M.L Haines Conducts Funeral Service for Traveler Many View Remains.
The Rev. M.L. Haines of First Presbyterian Church conducted the funeral services for the late Dr. Calvin I Fletcher, who was killed in a fall in Glacier Park, Mont., at the Fletcher home, 1623 North Pennsylvania street at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The services were simple and were attended only by members of the family and a few of Dr. Fletcher's closest friends.
The Rev. Mr. Haines spoke of Dr. Fletcher as probably foremost amount the citizens of Indianapolis in the extensiveness of his travels. He called attention that it was not a spirit of recklessness or love of adventure that led the physician to roam the earth but a desire to see the interesting places, or as expressed by Horace H Fletcher, a brother; a desire to explore the picture book of the worlds.
Many Floral Offerings.
The floral offerings were numerous from his many friends and from the clubs and organizations with which he was associated. Between the hours of 2-4 o'clock preceding the funeral, the home was visited by scores of friends of the family, who view the doctor's remains. Interment will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Crown Hill Cemetery, with brief services by the Rev. Louis W Sherwin, assistant pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, in the absence of Dr. M.H. Haines, who returns to the East to complete his vacation. The burial will be private.
