Mrs. McCay Dies; Wrote ‘Indiana Ancestors' Column
Mrs. Leonard G (Betty L.) McCay, 47, Indianapolis, author of the column "Indiana Ancestor," which appears in The Indianapolis Star on Sundays, died yesterday in her home.
Mrs. McCay had written the column for the last three years.
During the early 1970's, she taught a noncredit course on genealogy at Indiana-Purdue University, Indianapolis.
Mrs. McCay traveled extensively researching genealogy, gathering material in Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England and France.
A lifelong Indianapolis resident, she attended Brigham Young University during the summers. She was a member of the Second Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church, 3516 East 39th Street. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Albright of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca L. Roth of Plainfield, and a son, Daniel G. McCay of Oaklandon.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in Moore and Kirk Irvington Chapel.
