Lillian Williams Shook, 77, of Black Mountain, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009.
Mrs. Shook was born December 17, 1932 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Lillian was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was loved by all and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Shook is preceded in death by her father, Hillary L. Williams Sr.; husband, Frank Shook who passed away October 5, 2006 and brother, Buster Williams.
Lillian is survived by her mother, Ruth Miller Williams of Black Mountain; children, Diane Thomason of Black Mountain, Joe Shook and wife, Stephannie of Black Mountain, Mark Shook and wife, Andra of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Darlene Melton of Oteen and son-in law, Harold of Black Mountain; sisters, Laura Mooring of Black Mountain, Nora Stevens of Old Fort, Marie Gilbert of Columbus, Joyce Ammons of Black Mountain, Alice Stevens of Old Fort, Pam Brock of Candler, Debbie Pruett, Susie Allen and Arlene Williams all of Black Mountain; brothers, Chester Williams of Black Mountain, Floyd Williams of Fletcher and Ted Williams of Black Mountain; eight grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
At other times, the family will be at the residence of Joe and Stephanie Shook, 305 Kerlee Heights, Black Mountain.
