Margaret Mary Warner, 83, of Raber, MI, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Marcia, in Kincheloe.

The former Margaret Finch was born June 6, 1924, in Leicestershire, England, to Percy Walter Finch and Mary Elizabeth (Meakin) Finch.

She grew up in England.

Margaret Finch married Donald Warner, a soldier she met during World War II, and came to the United States with her husband. They lived in Lincoln Park and Taylor, where their children grew up while Mr. Warner worked in the automotive industry. In 1973, when he retired, they moved to Raber.

Margaret Warner was a member of the Bender-Johnson AmVets Ladies Auxiliary Post 79 and the Raber Senior Citizens. She attended the North Raber Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, and crocheting, as well as making crafts, including "fluffies" pot scrubbers, and participating in local craft shows.

She was survived by six children and their families, Donna Wood of Raber, Marilyn Weaver of Bancroft, Marcia and Gale Spence of Kincheloe, Denise and Kent Kott of Raber, Daniel and Sandra Warner of Kincheloe, and Matthew Warner of Raber; 15 grandchildren and their families, Dawn and Eugene Wood, Mike Wood, Amy and Jim Hammons, Tracie and Ron MacDowell, Valerie and Chris Mertle, Jerry and Rachel Weaver, Kimberly and Dean Porter, Crystal Spence, Robert Spence, Bill Spence, Katie Spence, Kurt Kott, Kerry and Trevo McKeown, Brett Warner, and Mattie Warner; and 23 great-grandchildren and their families, Christopher and Brandi Revers, Carl Revers, Melinda Wood, James Hammons III, Sharon Hammons, Jessica Hammons, Donna Hammons, Kayla MacDowell, Evan MacDowell, Aaron MacDowell, Gage Mertle, Cody Mertle, Ty Mertle, Madalyn Mertle, Riley Mertle, Jake Mertle, Richard Weaver, Jessica Weaver, Jaycen Weaver, Courtney Spence, Chase Porter, Kassidy Yarnell, and Natalie Spence. Also surviving were a sister and her family, Jean and Trevor Hines of Leicestershire.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Walter Finch, and two sisters, Gladys Mayne and Betty Dawson.
