Abstract: "The death angel invaded the home of Mr. L.W. Wrisley, corner 4th and Pacific at 3 o'clock this morning and his estimable wife entered upon the last dreamless sleep which has no awakening this side of eternity." Born Sarah A. Rockefeller Nov. 2, 1840, in Genaga county, Ohio. Married L.W. Wrisley Dec. 13, 1863,, and moved to Wisconsin in 1867, to Nebraska in 1880 and to Long Beach in 1893. Survived by husband and children, R.H. Wrisley and Mrs. Maud Jaques. Funeral at the Baptist church, Rev. Frank L. Norton officiating.
According to the Geauga county records, Lewis and Sarah were married on Jan. 13, 1864 in Thompson, Geauga County, Ohio. She also had her last name spelled as ROCKEYFELLOW in the county records.Even though the Geauga county records refer to her as ROCKEYFELLOW on her marriage license, her birth records show her as ROCKAFELLOW, which is also how her parents spelled it and as it appears on their headstones.
