Twenty Years Ago:
Miss Nellie Ackerman, daughter of David Ackerman, passed away this morning after a long period of ill health and following an operation for appendicitis to which she had submitted several days previously at the age of 22 years.

DEATH OF MISS ACKERMAN.
Miss Nellie Ackerman passed away at 1:10 this morning at the St. Francis Hospital from exhaustion resulting from a long period of ill health, six weeks or more sever illness and finally an operation for appendicitis, the operation having been undergone on Saturday last. For about a year she had not been in the best of health. During the last six weeks her condition became more aggravated and on Saturday and operation became necessary. The shock of the operation and the attendant exhaustion were the cause of death.
The deceased was born in this city on August the 24th, 1884. She attended the public schools and in later years became a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal church choir, also being a member of the Daughters of the King and of the Ladies Guild. The funeral will take place from the church, at which hour has not yet been determined, owing the the absence of a sister, Miss Julia Ackerman in Nashville, Tenn., who has been sent for and may already have been on the way home having earlier been advised of her sister's severe illness. . . . The deceased leaves a grief stricken father, mother, two sisters and a brother to mourn her loss. She was held in high esteem by many friends whose sympathy goes out to the bereaved in their affliction.
