Services for Leon H Chenoweth, 75, retired school superintendent and teacher in South Charleston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Ingling Funeral Home with the Rev. William Ervin officiating, with burial following in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Chenowith died unexpectedly in his residence at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 1961. The event occurred while talking with his wife Nellie, the cause of death being an apparent heart ailment. After more than 40 years as teacher and administrator of the South Charleston school, Mr. Chenoweth retired in 1953. He had been active in civic and religious circles of the area for many years.
