WILLIAM REID DIES IN HOME

At Age of 10 he made ammunition for army

William F. Reid who as a lad of 10 helped to make ammunition in the old munition factory at Crumps Park for the Confederate army,died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the age of 75.
For all his life he lived in the home of his birth here the Reid home Place on Reid St. He died however at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank Aids 205 Newberg Avenue.
Mr.Reid was a member of the R.A. Smith camp of Confederate veterans.He was the son of Jacob Reid and Nancy Simmons,
Who settled in Macon in 1835. In early life he became a brick mason and for 40 years was connected with the Central of Georgia railway, retiring several years ago.
He is survived by three daughters and a son Mrs. F.R. Aids,Mrs. E. T. Roberts,Mrs.W.H. Mcdonald,and J.C.Reid ,all of macon,and 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
The Funeral will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning from the home of Mrs. Aids. Rev. A.B. Dorough,pastor of the Mikado Baptist church,officiating . Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
