George C. Arrington died March 10, 2007.

Born to George W. Arrington and Maude M. (Sprague) Arrington on April 18, 1914 in Fromberg, Montana. Married on August 27, 1939 to Montana Hays in Fromberg, Montana. Graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota; earned his Master's Degree plus additional education in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Vocations included owning a dairy farm and owning a garage. Professions included accounting and others, but his favorite was being a teacher. He taught in Colstrip, Montana, where he also coached basketball; Cody, Wyoming and Flowing Wells School District in Tucson, AZ, where he taught Physics, Chemistry and Math.

After retiring, he wrote two books, one an autobiography called "Montana and Me," the other about life in a nursing home, where he devotedly spent every day with Montana during her last 7-12 years. He also wrote many wonderful poems for friends and family. He was a member of various organizations including Masons, Elks, various teachers' organizations, a former Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Elder and Trustee in the Presbyterian Church.

Preceded in death by his wife, Montana, in 2000; brothers, Loren, Merle, Bernard; and sister, Theresa.

Survived by daughter, Yvonne Bethel and husband, Howard of Tucson; son, G. William (Bill) Arrington and wife, Shelley of Colorado; six grandchildren, Steve Cassell, Scott Cassell, Linda Satterfield, Heidi Straight, Billy Arrington and Paul Arrington; three great-grandchildren, Nate Cassell, Ella Satterfield, Allison Satterfield, soon-to-be born, baby Straight; and sister, Eileen Eisenman.

He was a wonderful, loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. We will all miss him very much, as will his many friends and extended family. He will be so happy to see Montana and the many loved ones who are in Heaven to greet him and Heaven will be a brighter place.

Memorial service will be held at 1100 a.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on March 31, 2007, with the Reverend Carla Williams officiating. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES (Avalon Chapel).
