The Decatur Daily - Wednesday, August 7, 2002:

Funeral for James C. Austin, 75, of Priceville will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Steelmon officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Austin died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 21, 1927, in Savannah, Tenn., to Elmer Austin and Beulah Nolan Austin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired machinist, having worked for Bendix in South Bend, Ind., for 30 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Austin; one daughter, Sally Ferguson of Hartselle; four brothers, Pete Austin of Granger, Ind., Mack Austin of Greensboro, N.C., Earnest Austin of Elkhart, Ind., and Fred Austin of Arkansas; five sisters, Mae Peden of Florence, Mable Mansel of Braselton, Ga., Grace Beck of Elkhart, Ind., Nancy Daub of Greensboro, N.C., and Polly Wilson of Trinity; and six grandchildren.
