Mrs. Avalyn Taylor Lesage, 84, was a lifelong resident of Homer. She was a graduate of Homer High School and attended Louisiana Normal College in Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nininnie and Tap Taylor, and her husband, Joe C.LeSage, Sr.
Mrs. Lesage, for many years was an active worker in the Cradle Roll Department of the First Baptist Church of Homer. She was an active member of the Homer Country Club and an avid LSU football fan.
During World War II she was director of a group of volunteers of the American Red Cross who knitted thousands of sweaters and socks for our troops overseas.
