Bank of Ava Dies from Heart Failure

J.M. Adams, one of Ava's most highly respected citizens died suddenly from heart failure at his home Monday evening about 5:00 o'clock. His age was 58 years. Mr. Adams came to Ava about twenty years ago and has been engaged in business at this place all of the time. At the time of his death he was Vice-president of the Bank of Ava. His worth would be safely estimated at $60,000.00 and that he owned more land than any other man in Douglas County.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Adams, and two little daughters. Up to the time of going to press on Wednesday night, we were unable to get any definite information in regard to whre Mr. Adams body would be taken for burial. The Herald extends to the bereaved ones its heartfelt sympathy.

South Entrance of the "Old" part of the Ava Cemetery is a very Impressive and huge tombstone inscribed Adams. On the east and west sides of this tombstone are small tombstones marking family members of this Adams family.
