Daniel was born 1814 and died 1896, he was a veteran of the Civil War, in the 14th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry. We are very lucky to know the location of his burial, he had a Grandson, Bert Gump, born 1892 & died 1991, who remembered his mother taking him to Daniel's grave as a child.

Daniel being a veteran, I was able to apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs for a Military Headstone to place at his grave. This is scheduled to be delivered on Friday, August 24th 2012, and I hope to get erected as soon as possible. That will take some time though, as the cemetery is very badly overgrown, and I am in the process of having a license agreement made with Consolidated Coal (The Owners of the Property) to become the caretaker for the cemetery.

He was the Son of George Cumberledge, and Rachel (Barber) Cumberledge.
